KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) has today announced local celebrities including Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri and Eizlan Yusof, in addition to popular activist Lando Zawawi as its candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).

Ahmad Idham will contest Port Dickson, Eizlan in Sabak Bernam, and Lando — real name Azlan Sani Zawawi — will contest Tanjung Karang.

The trio joined GTA under the Gagasan Bangsa coalition of civil societies, but will contest using the Parti Pejuang Tanahair logo.

Ahmad Idham, a former National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas) chief executive officer, will face off against Pakatan Harapan’s Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, the state’s mentri besar; Barisan Nasional’s P. Kamalanathan; and Perikatan Nasional’s Rafei Mustapha.

A former local actor, Eizlan will challenge the incumbent Datuk Fasiah Fakeh from Bersatu, Amanah’s Shamsul Maarif Ismail, and Umno’s Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakri for the Sabak Bernam parliamentary seat.

In Rembau, Lando will be up against Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan who displaced caretaker health minister Khairy Jamaluddin in the seat, PKR’s Jufiltri Joha, and Bersatu’s Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus.
