KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Pakatan Harapan (PH) are not planning to change the candidates it has nominated for the 15th general election (GE15) following the announcements made by opponents Barisan Nasional (BN), Pejuang and Bersatu.
He said PH is ready to hit the ground running and if there were to be any changes, he would have to consult with coalition leaders first.
"As it stands, there are none,” Anwar said when asked by reporters about candidate shuffling for the upcoming GE15.
"I will of course consult (Anthony) Loke and (Mat) Sabu if they would like to make changes in light of the announcements by BN,” he told reporters after officiating the launch of the PH manifesto in Klang today.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke chimed in, stating the party too would only be discussing the matter if the need arose.
"Well, I think it is subject to surprises, but at this point in time, we have finalised our candidates,” said Loke.
This morning, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said he was planning to discuss the seat allocation for Sungai Buloh with Anwar after BN nominated Khairy Jamaluddin as its candidate for the constituency.
PH are fielding Dr Ramanan Ramakishnan in Sg Buloh, but after Khairy was nominated there, it is said that the coalition now wants a stronger candidate.
Khairy, who is the caretaker health minister, is the incumbent MP for Rembau but made way for Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan for GE15.
