DAP to contest in seven parliamentary seats in Penang

GEORGE TOWN, Oct 18 ― DAP will contest seven parliamentary seats in Penang, similar to the previous general election, said Chow Kon Yeow.

"We will be submitting the list of candidates to the party central leadership by this week,” he said in a press conference at his office today.

He said the DAP central executive committee will make the final decision on the candidates that will be fielded in the 15th general election (GE15).

"The DAP central leadership will announce the candidates for all states,” he said.

He said the list of DAP candidates will be announced between two to three days before nomination day.

There are 13 parliamentary seats in Penang.

DAP currently holds seven parliamentary seats, namely, Bagan, Batu Mertajam, Batu Kawan, Bukit Bendera, Tanjong, Jelutong and Bukit Gelugor.

As for the remaining parliamentary seats in Penang, PKR holds four while Barisan Nasional holds two.
