KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — PAS’ "directionless behaviour” in making a stand is the cause of the failed cooperation between the party and Umno through Muafakat Nasional (MN) in the 15th general election (GE15), Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah reportedly said.

The veteran Umno leader also known as Ku Li said PAS’ decision to not stick with MN is not surprising as the party is not consistent in making decisions.

"I don’t know... at one point PAS said there was nothing, suddenly it says Umno is corrupt and they cannot cooperate,” he told reporters after officiating a Gua Musang Umno meeting yesterday.

Ku Li added that PAS’ action will indirectly show the extent of the people’s acceptance of the PAS administration in Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu in this GE15.

"It is not wrong if PAS gets cooperation from Perikatan Nasional (PN). If PAS draws strength from PN because it joins Bersatu, there is nothing wrong with that... let’s try, and see what the people want.

"PAS has been in power in Kelantan for 30 years. They have been in power in Terengganu since the last general election and in Kedah for several years.

"So let’s try (to see) whether the people in these states are satisfied with their government this time,” he said.

Earlier this week, PAS finally decided to stay with its Bersatu partner in PN for the 15th general election instead of Umno, citing its agenda for the unity of the Muslim community.
