"Maybe this (GE15) will be my last term and after that, I will rest at home, spend time with my wife, my eight grandchildren, my children,” he told Malay daily Berita Harian during a Majlis Pemulihan Negara dialogue session yesterday.

"I feel it is time but if the situation is urgent and there is a need later, Insya-Allah, we will think about it then,” he added.

Muhyiddin, 75, who is MPN chairman, was sworn in as the eighth prime minister on March 1, 2020 but stepped down after 17 months on 16 August last year.

He had contested for the Pagoh parliamentary seat under the Pakatan Harapan ticket and won with a majority of 6,927 votes during the 14th general election.
