KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Malaysia’s Covid-19 cases dipped to 4,626 today, making it the second consecutive day that infection have been below the 5,000-mark.

Yesterday, the number of cases stood at 4,979, while on October 25, cases were at 4,782.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country since the start of the pandemic to 2,476,268.

"There are also 569 individuals in the intensive care unit, 301 of them in need of ventilator support,” Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement today.

"Of the total number of infections today, 94 cases are in Category 3, 4 and 5.”

Another 46 new clusters were reported today; 25 of which consist of workplace clusters, nine education clusters, seven community clusters and five high-risk clusters.

Currently, there are 438 active clusters nationwide.

As of yesterday, 74.9 per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated, comprising 95.5 per cent of the adult population and 66.4 per cent of adolescents aged between 12 and 17.
