KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — Malaysia’s new Covid-19 cases fell to 16,073 today but Sarawak still saw a high number of cases at 3,522, according to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Johor was second on 2,030 cases followed by Selangor (1,947 cases), Sabah (1,649 cases), Penang (1,243 cases), Kedah (1,191 cases), Kelantan (1,070 cases) and Perak (1,011 cases).

Perlis (41 cases), Putrajaya (16 cases) and Labuan (11 cases) had the fewest new cases today.

"There are 1,312 individuals in intensive care, 967 of them positive for Covid-19. Individuals who are breathing with the aid of a ventilator number 698, of which 44 are Covid-19 positive. The remainder is under investigation.

"From the total number of cases today, 233 are in Category 3, 4 and 5,” Dr Noor Hisham said in a statement today.

Apart from that, another 32 new clusters were registered today: 16 were workplace clusters, 14 community clusters, one high-risk cluster and one education cluster.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to date is 1,995,771 with 1,444 active clusters.
