The minister of science, technology and innovation said that after the date, residents will need to visit selected public health clinics for their vaccination.

According to the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) today, 97.8 per cent of all adults in the Klang Valley eligible for vaccination have already received both doses.

He said the attendance at vaccination centres (PPV) in the Klang Valley has been falling as the number of those still unvaccinated was now low.

"The walk-in vaccination programme in the Klang Valley will be stopped after September 15,” he said at the handover ceremony between him and Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin here today.

The list of public health clinics will be announced later.

Adham also said the downward trend of new Covid-19 cases was a "good sign” for the country and proved that vaccines work.

"Many people have been asking why the daily vaccination numbers are smaller nowadays.

"This is actually a good sign. This shows that many of us in Malaysia have already been vaccinated,” he said

Dr Adham aslo said the government has decided that students of both public and private institutions of higher learning as well as matriculation students could get vaccinated at available PPVs by displaying their student cards.

He said 246,000 tertiary students still did not have any record of vaccination.

As of September 7, a total of 547,595 or 53.2 per cent of tertiary students have been fully vaccinated.

"I hope efforts to raise awareness on vaccinations will be enhanced,” he said.
