KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — Another 86 Covid-19 related deaths were reported by the Health Ministry (MOH) over the last day with total fatalities now at 3,182 cumulatively.

A tweet by the MOH showed the fatality rate currently at 0.53 per cent. On May 1, there were 1,521 Covid-19 related deaths with a fatality rate of just 0.37 per cent.

The tweet also showed that three more people were admitted to intensive care units (ICU), bringing the total to 883, with 459 of them intubated, 13 patients more than yesterday.

Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his statement later revealed the youngest fatality today was of a 26-year old local woman with no comorbidities who died in Hospital Labuan, and the oldest being a 101-year old local woman who died in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Selangor reported 20 deaths, with 14 reported in Johor, 13 in Negri Sembilan, seven in Kuala Lumpur, five in Sarawak, four in Kedah, three deaths each in Sabah, Melaka, Pahang, Perak, Labuan and Penang, with deaths each reported in Kelantan and Terengganu with one fatality in Perlis.

Details in his statement showed that seven deaths today were that of bodies brought in dead, while 13 deaths involved patients with no prior known comorbidities.

In the first four days of June, there has already been 386 Covid-19 related deaths or 12 per cent of the total fatalities to date.
