KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 — Malaysia recorded 1,268 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cumulative cases to 336,808 since the pandemic hit the country last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Health today.

Selangor still tops the list of states with the most cases with 490, followed by Sarawak (141), and Johor (135).

Terengganu, Labuan and Putrajaya were the only states to record cases in the single digits, while Perlis maintained its clean slate of zero new infections.

Malaysia also recorded 1,083 recoveries, bringing the cumulative number to 320,925. There are currently 14,637 active cases in the country.

At the moment, 161 cases are in intensive care, of which 73 require breathing aid.

Malaysia recorded two new fatalities, raising the total number of deaths from the coronavirus to 1,246.

The Ministry of Health confirmed four new clusters: two were detected at workplaces, one in the community and another within a high-risk group.

To date, a total of 1,314 clusters have been detected since the start of the pandemic in the country, with 395 clusters still active.
