KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 — Malaysia added another 3,288 Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total number of active cases to 52,186.
The highest number of cases in the last 24 hours came from Selangor with (1,757 cases), followed by Kuala Lumpur (408) and Johor with (369).
There were also 14 deaths today, bringing the total number of fatalities to 923.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said only five cases were imported.
He also announced 1,929 recoveries today.
However, he said, 285 patients are in intensive care of which 131 need ventilators.
After Johor, Negri Sembilan had 157 cases, Sarawak (135 cases), Sabah (132 cases), Melaka (92 cases), Penang (59 cases), Kedah (48 cases), Kelantan (44 cases), Perak (42 cases), Terengganu (24 cases), Pahang (14 cases), Putrajaya (four cases), Labuan (three cases) while Perlis had no case today.
"From the 14 deaths today, five were in Selangor, four Sabah, two in Johor and one apiece in Kedah, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
"All deaths were locals,” Dr Noor Hisham added.
The oldest fatality was a 94-year-old male in Sabah who died at the Hospital of Duchess of Kent in Sandakan. He had a history of asthma.
The youngest Covid-19 fatality was a 36-year-old man from Putrajaya with a history of obesity who died at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
The other people who died were another 91-year-old, two individuals in their eighties, seven in their sixties, one 57-year-old and one 42-year-old.
