KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — Inter-states and inter-districts travel will be prohibited across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya following the reimposing of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) which will take effect this midnight until October 27.

However, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob explained that workers are allowed to travel inter-district and inter-state provided they have valid work passes or approval letters from their employers.

"Many are confused on the travelling standard operating procedures (SOP) following the CMCO announcement yesterday.

"Therefore, I would like to announce that people are allowed to travel inter-states and inter-districts in the CMCO areas for work purposes only and they should have valid documents,” he said in his daily briefing here.

For people who are working within a district, Ismail Sabri said that they do not need the documents to travel to their work places.

"The government also encourage employers to allow their employees to work from home,” he said.

Ismail Sabri also said that those who need to travel through Selangor and Kuala Lumpur to other states are advised to seek permission at the nearest police station before travelling.

"Similarly, those who are use air transportation via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), KLIA 2 and Subang are also required to obtain travelling permission from the police,” he said.

"For emergency cases, such as illness and funeral arrangements outside the district, are allowed, but they should inform the police on the movement,” he added.

He also stressed that only two individuals from the same household are allowed to purchase food supply and other necessities.

"High-risk individuals and children are not encouraged to go out to public, open or crowded places,” he said.
