KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — Malaysia recorded 10 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total to 7,629 cases, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
All 10 are local transmissions where five are non-Malaysians. There are also no imported cases today, he said.
"This brings the total of active cases to 1,345.
"Eight cases are being treated at intensive care units where four are in need of ventilators.
"No death was recorded today. The cumulative deaths remain at 115,” said Dr Noor Hisham during the Health Ministry’s daily briefing on Covid-19.
As for recoveries, he said 86 have recovered and been discharged. This brings cumulative full recovery and discharged cases to 6,169 cases or 80.9 per cent of total cases.
As for the Covid-19 case detection carried out at three immigration detention depots — Bukit Jalil, Sepang and Semenyih — Dr Noor Hisham said a total of 283 positive cases were recorded in Bukit Jalil with no more pending test results.
He added that Semenyih (66) has no new cases while four await test results; and Sepang (36) has no new cases with no pending test results.
"Other active clusters such as Pudu have recorded three new positive cases, bringing the total number of cases to 73 today.
"At the second cluster of Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot, one new case was recorded today, bringing the total positive cases to 283.
"The third active cluster is Chow Kit Market, where one case was recorded as well. This brings the total positive cases of this cluster to 90,” he said.
He added that there are no new cases recorded from 28 other clusters.
