DAP takes Teluk Intan

TELUK INTAN, May 10 — Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming thumped Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong to snatch the parliamentary seat from Barisan Nasional that was lost by DAP in the 2014 by-election.

Nga polled 29,170 against Mah, who obtained 17,991 votes with a majority of 11,179.

PAS’ Dr Ahmad Ramadzan obtained 6,494 votes in the three corner fight.

There were 742 spoilt votes.

The tabulation of results was held at the hall of Majlis Perbandaran Teluk Intan.

Mah was not present for the announcement of results.

Nga, who arrived at about 11.10pm, was greeted by cheering supporters.

He thanked Teluk Intan voters for the win.

He also thanked Mah for a healthy fight.

"I apologise if my words hurt anyone during campaigning,” he said.

"He has set a good example,” he added.
