Batu Gajah gets new police chief

IPOH, Jan 22 — Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Tarmizi Shaari today assumed the position of Batu Gajah police chief.

The 59-year-old previously served as Compliance Officer with the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur.

Ahmad Tarmizi assumed the post from Superintendent Tan Boon Hooi, who was the acting Batu Gajah police district chief for the past four months.

With a new man helming the OCPD’s post, Tan now returns to continue serving as deputy police chief for the district.

Perak deputy chief police officer Datuk Omar Mammah witnessed the handing-over ceremony which was held at the officer's lounge at Tiger Lane here.
