KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 ― A DAP lawmaker today questioned the absence of any allocation under Budget 2018 for the MCA-founded Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARC), unlike previous years.

Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong also demanded answers from MCA, which has three federal ministers, on how the absence of budget allocations for TARC escaped their attention.

He pointed out that TARC had an allocation in the last three federal budgets at RM60 million, RM51 million, and RM30 million respectively.

"All MCA ministers, deputy ministers and parliamentarians were not aware of the missing allocation until I raised it in the committee stage debate for the Higher Education Ministry yesterday,” he said.

TARC has some 27,000 students and I really hope that the government will continue providing them allocations,” he added.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, in a press conference later said that he would look into the allegation by Teo.
