Her daughter, Baida Hercus, said in a statement on Facebook that the final rites would be held at the Bangsar Mosque.

She will be buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery.

Munirah dedicated 50 years of her life to charity work, founding Pertiwi to distribute food to the homeless and the urban poor.

Various activists and NGO workers sent their condolences on social media.

"Munirah had dedicated decades of her life to service and serving the poor and hungry. From today, the streets of KL will just be a little sadder, and some stomachs a little emptier, without her presence,” Pit Stop Community Cafe said.

"Satu kehilangan besar buat negara. No one is as vocal and committed as her in fighting against poverty and homelessness,” one user commented.

"May her noble spirit be blessed and be placed among the righteous,” another user wrote.
