Forty canine heroes share spotlight at National Day parade in Putrajaya, applauded online (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 — A total of 40 dogs from various enforcement agencies participated inat the National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya.

All of the canines serve the nation in missions through their respective agencies.

According to New Straits Times, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) brought 15 dogs from their K9 unit while the armed forces paraded 10 of their war dogs.

The Civil Defence Force brought along four of their canines while the Customs Department had five of their drug-tracking dogs at the parade.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) brought six of their famous furry heroes including the Batang Kali’s Search and Rescue correspondent, Grouse.

Amongst the highlights from the canines walkabout were the outfits worn by the PDRM’s K9 unit where the dogs are paired with shoes and sunglasses while the Bomba’s unit wore vests with their name tags on it.

Videos of the canines have also been circulating online- from during their rehearsals to the day of the parade itself.

A TikTok video shared by user Khairunnisaa Kamal which showed a PDRM K9 handler putting on shoes on one of their dogs has garnered over 100,000 views with over 10,000 likes.

While another TikTok video compilation of the Bomba canines unit during rehearsal shared by user white has also been receiving praises from local TikTok users.

"They looked so cute with their own uniforms,” commented TikTok user Zainon.

"These national heroes are so cute,” commented TikTok user Sharleen.

"PAW PATROL,” TikTok user Halene commented.

Yesterday's National Day parade in celebration of the 66th Merdeka has seen over 100,000 audiences gathering in Putrajaya to catch the spectacle.
