KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 ― Indoor vertical farming can change the way we get our siu pak choy and kangkung.

It allows produce to be grown safer, faster, and more sustainable to bring cleaner, more nutrient vegetables to be sold and consumed.

Yet, many people aren’t aware of its benefits.

Agroz’s Group Sdn Bhd’s EduFarm-in-city is set to educate shoppers on this technology, located at AEON Alpha Angle in Wangsa Maju.

Spanning over 8,000 feet, it is Malaysia’s largest indoor vertical farm in a shopping mall, using Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and agriculture technology (AgTech) by Agroz.

The EduFarm will be open for weekend tours from September 2023 to showcase to children and families the possibilities of vegetable farming in the city.

It will be open from 10am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays with special weekday visits from schools available,

Among the produce grown will be salad leaves like lettuce, kale, and arugula to local species like nai pak.

Agroz Group founder and chief executive officer Gerard Lim said that he is thrilled to have brought the EduFarm-in-city to AEON shoppers.

He said in a statement that EduFarm will create awareness about how clean, healthy, and fresh vegetables are grown.

Agroz will continue to use the CEA model to continue creating large commercial-scale, industrial-grade indoor vertical farms.

They aim to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides, reduce the need for storage and refrigeration, and reduce transportation that will produce carbon emissions.

Using solar and renewable energy, Agroz wants to contribute to sustainability by lowering waste and saving resources with the help of the latest technology.

Enquiries on having special weekday visits from schools can be made through email at hello@agrozgroup.com or Facebook.
