Dimla decided to enrol in kindergarten following encouragement from teachers who noticed she had difficulties writing her name when picking up her child's class modules, Philippine Star reported.

According to her teacher, Glenda Ubiaa, Dimla did not distance herself from her classmates despite the huge age difference.

She was a "tita” or auntie to all of them, the teacher said.

Ubiaa also described Dimla as a cheerful and quick learner.

She also actively engages with her classmates, Coconuts Manila reported.

Dimla said she dropped out of school after losing interest in learning as her mother prioritised her stepsister's education over hers.

Looking ahead, Dimla said she would strive to finish schooling until college level to make her family proud.
