KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — It was a heart stopping moment for motorists travelling on the Karak Expressway recently when a python fell from the engine compartment of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The incident was captured by a dashcam travelling behind the SUV and was shared on TikTok by a user using the handle azroylan81 yesterday.

According to the description of the 24 seconds clip, which has since been viewed 1.6 million times, the incident occurred on Friday, April 21.

The snake got run over by the SUV’s wheels but survived the ordeal.

It is unclear what happened to the reptile after the incident as the snake could be seen trying to slither away.

TikTok users expressed their thankfulness that the SUV occupants were not injured by the snake.

One TikTok user with the handle Inspektor Mazlan advised motorists to check their vehicles’ hidden compartments before starting their journey.

This, he said, was due to snakes’ tendency to come out of their habitat due to the current hot weather.
