KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 — When Singapore-based TikToker Zoe Gabriel posted a video of herself buying a bag, she went viral after getting hate for it.

The reason?

She called the Charles & Keith bag she bought, a luxury bag.

It wasn’t the mean call-out comments that made news, it was how the 17-year-old responded to it that grabbed headlines as the story went viral in January.

Well, the joke’s on haters now because Zoe has been chosen as one of the faces of Charles & Keith’s 2023 International Women’s Day campaign.

It’s also safe to say that she’s the most Internet famous 17-year-old in Singapore at the moment with overwhelming support from the city-state and all over the world.

The Singaporean-Filipino teenager's "offensive” video has since garnered 2.2 million likes and she’s now TikTok verified.

Thousands of followers had shown support by telling her to ignore the haters and posted messages of love and solidarity.

Yesterday, Zoe shared a photo of herself on Instagram, posing with Charles & Keith’s Alia Chain-Strap Crossbody Bag — one of the brand’s best-selling bags — in purple.

Purple, green and white are colours of IWD.

To mark the occasion, Zoe, the Charles & Keith brand community ambassador, also penned a handwritten note:

"Women are like flowers. Our time and needs to grow may not always align, but that is okay.

"We are like fields of poppy and lakes of lotus — diverse and bold in our differences, beautiful in our own ways.

"This International Women’s Day, let us celebrate with compassion. Let us celebrate with equality through equity, the way flowers do.”
