KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 — For Malaysians who are going to cast their votes at the ballot box this weekend, they are in for a treat.

Local businesses are giving out special promotions in conjunction with the 15th general election (GE15) taking place this November 19.

From discounted e-scooter rides to free popcorn and food, here are 10 promotions to reward voters after they perform their civic duties.

1. Discounted e-scooter rides with Beam Malaysia

Micro-mobility company Beam Malaysia is offering Malaysians in the Klang Valley a 15 percent discount on all of their e-scooter rides from now until November 20.

On top of that, users will enjoy an additional discount of RM1.50 when ending their trips at any polling station parking spot.

The Beam’s e-scooter can be found at most public transport hubs across the Klang Valley.

2. Free small popcorn at GSC Cinemas

Chain cinema operator GSC will be offering a small popcorn exclusively for those with blue inked fingers during the election day.

The free popcorn promotion is valid at all GSC outlets nationwide except for Aurum Theatre in The Gardens Mall.

3. Special price for MBO Cinemas' food and beverages

For young voters aged between 18 and 21, MBO Cinemas is offering a special price of only RM2 for their 32oz a la carte drinks.

They are also giving a RM5 discount on any of their food and beverages with a minimum purchase of RM10, open to all Malaysians who have voted.

4. Free cup of white coffee at Old Town White Coffee

Old Town White Coffee is giving a free cup of their regular white coffee to those with inked fingers and with any purchase of rice or noodles from their a la carte menu items.

5. Tealive's 'two for one price' promotion

Bubble tea franchise Tealive is offering a RM15 price for any two drinks in conjunction with the GE15.

The promotion is from now until November 20 and no inked fingers are required for this.

6. Free side dish from Nando's Malaysia

Nando's Malaysia has been doing a few Instagram posts urging Malaysians to vote and giving them reasons to do so.

"Oh...did we mention there is a complimentary side if you vote?” hinted the South African restaurant franchise.

7. Free fried chicken from Marrybrown

Marrybrown Malaysia will be giving away one piece of fried chicken for those with inked fingers.

The free chicken is valid with any purchase of their MB combo.

8. Drinks' discount at Secret Recipe

Secret Recipe Malaysia is offering a 30 percent discount on any of their drinks this November 19.

The promotion is valid for those with inked fingers and available for dine-in and take away.

9. Taco Bell's Voting Day Deal

Taco Bell Malaysia will be offering a RM5 meal during election day.

The meal includes their Loaded Griller along with a drink.

10. Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart offers discount

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart will be offering a 15 percent discount on their regular sized classic cheese tarts to those who flash their inked fingers upon payment.

The promotion is valid at all of their outlets in Malaysia on November 19.
