One such company is local beauty product distributor R Beaute which joined hands with Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

Kevin.Murphy and Montibello — which are carried by R Beaute — are the first professional hair beauty brands in Malaysia to launch a breast cancer awareness campaign involving over 100 salons nationwide.

"We believe that driving breast cancer awareness is a cause that is near and dear to us, especially in our hair beauty industry of which the majority is made up of women,” said R Beaute managing director Roy Kow, who applauded all the hair salons for coming together to support the cause.

The two campaigns — #PositivelyPink by Kevin.Murphy and #LovelyInPink by Montibello — were launched for the whole of last month.

For every bottle purchased from either brand, RM1 was donated to BCWA in support of its initiative to shine a light on breast cancer and health.

With the collective efforts of participating salons and support from the public, R Beaute managed to raise RM2,118 in donations for BCWA.

Kow recently presented a mock cheque to BCWA secretary Liew Swee Lee, who expressed her gratitude for the donation. They were joined by R Beaute marketing manager Shannon Chan at BCWA office in Petaling Jaya.
